Rebuild Florida: Helping Families Recover from Recent Storms

The path to recovery after major storms can be long and overwhelming for families. That’s why Rebuild Florida, a program funded by the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD), is stepping in to help eligible homeowners repair, rebuild, or replace their storm-damaged homes.

This round of assistance is available to Floridians impacted by:

  • Hurricane Idalia
  • Hurricane Debby
  • Hurricane Helene
  • Hurricane Milton
  • The May 2024 North Florida Tornadoes

Who May Qualify

Homeowners across dozens of counties—including Charlotte County—may be eligible if they:

  • Owned and lived in their home during one of the listed storms.
  • Experienced storm-related damage.
  • Meet low- to moderate-income guidelines (priority is given to families with children, seniors, and people with disabilities).

How You Can Help

Community recovery takes all of us. COAD partners and volunteers can make a difference by:

  • Sharing program information through networks.
  • Displaying flyers or palm cards in local spaces.
  • Spreading the word at community events.

With your help, more families will learn about this opportunity and access the support they need to restore safe, stable housing.
